Oba to Antalya Airport Transfer

Oba is the first district east of the Alanya centre, which sounds like an advantage and behaves like one for most of the day. The run to Antalya Airport is about 132 km and takes 125 to 145 minutes, but almost none of that variation belongs to the highway. It belongs to the short section where the resort strip's exits and the town's own traffic are using the same piece of road.

The other local factor is density. Oba holds a lot of large all-inclusive resorts along one beachfront, and on a changeover day a substantial part of the district is leaving inside the same few hours, which puts coaches and cars onto that section together. It is why a departure booked for the early hours moves so differently from one booked for mid-morning, and why we plan the hour rather than assume it.

West of Konaklı the journey becomes honest and steady. Payallar and Türkler pass, then Avsallar, İncekum and Okurcalar, and the road opens across the Manavgat plain toward the Side junction. That long middle section changes very little between February and August, and the final stretch behind the hotel belt is usually the quickest part of the whole drive, whatever the morning did beforehand.

You send the flight time when you book; the pickup hour is set against it for the day you are actually travelling and confirmed back to you. The price is agreed before that conversation and stays put — a slow start out of the district costs time, not money.

The big Oba complexes have long frontages, and the entrance a private car should use is not always the one a map pin lands on. At changeover hours the main drive can be occupied by resort coaches loading, which is exactly when a booked vehicle needs a standing point of its own. We take the resort name and the entrance at the time of booking, tell the driver where to wait and confirm the spot back to you, so nobody ends up walking a suitcase around a perimeter fence in the dark.

Inland of the D400 the question is simply whether the vehicle can turn where you are. Some of the apartment blocks behind the beach road sit on streets that are one car wide with parking down both sides; where that is the case we agree a loading point on the nearest through street and put it on the booking. For coast-side properties the driver waits at the entrance on the beach road. Either way, if you are leaving before reception is staffed, say so at the desk the evening before — the large resorts keep a night porter, the smaller blocks frequently do not.

Leaving Oba usually comes down to three choices, and the first one is free. The resort's own coach costs nothing extra and departs on its own schedule, calling at several hotels before it reaches the highway. If its hour happens to suit your flight, take it. If it does not — and with departures spread across the day it often does not — then you are choosing between waiting hours at the terminal and finding your own way.

The second choice is a taxi, which is straightforward at noon in August and much less so on an October morning before dawn, when it depends on whoever the night desk can reach by telephone. What arrives is what you take, in whatever size it happens to be, and the fare for 132 km is discussed in the drive with your luggage already out. At this distance the meter has more room to move than on any shorter run in the district, and it moves furthest on precisely the days the road is worst.

The third costs a booking and closes both questions at once. The car comes for your group alone at the hour you chose, the driver has the entrance, the case count and any child seat in hand before he sets off, and the figure was agreed when you reserved rather than negotiated on the pavement. For a long, early, one-way trip with a flight at the end of it, that is the difference worth paying for.
