Places to Visit
Explore canyons, waterfalls, and nature spots with a private transfer. Your driver waits on-site for the return trip.
Within an hour's drive of Antalya city centre lies a surprisingly varied landscape of waterfalls, river gorges, pine forests, and canyon trails. The Lower Duden Falls drop directly into the sea at the edge of the city and can be reached in 20 minutes — a short, striking visit that fits neatly before an evening flight. Kursunlu Waterfall and its shaded nature park sit 30 kilometres inland and reward a leisurely two-hour loop. Upper Duden Falls, north of the city, is popular with local families on weekends and quieter on weekday mornings. All three waterfall sites are substantially different from one another and can be combined in a single day.
Koprulu Canyon is in a different category. Located roughly 95 kilometres northeast of Antalya in the Taurus foothills, it is the region's premier whitewater rafting site and hosts pine-forest picnic areas, a suspension bridge, and a 2,000-year-old Roman aqueduct that stands intact beside the river. No public bus serves the canyon directly. Visitors who attempt the journey by shared transport typically spend more time waiting for connections than they do at the site. A private transfer solves this completely: the drive through the Taurus foothills takes about 90 minutes, leaving the full midday hours for rafting or walking, with a relaxed return in the afternoon.
For canyon walks, Goynuk and the Lycian Way section near Olympos offer half-day trekking through narrow limestone gorges that fill with cold water in spring and early summer. Sturdy closed shoes or water shoes are required; sandals are not suitable. Both canyons are typically accessed by a short drive from the main road and then a self-guided walk, so a driver drop-off and collection works well. Bring more water than you think you need — canyon microclimates can be deceptively warm despite the shade — and pack a light layer for the return journey after water crossings.

Spring (March to May) delivers the highest flow at Duden and Kursunlu falls following winter rains. By August, some cascades reduce to a trickle. Koprulu Canyon rafting is fully operational from April to October, with the most exciting rapids in April and May when snowmelt swells the Kopruçay river. Autumn offers comfortable temperatures and good water levels through October.
The Goynuk and Olympos canyons involve sections of wading and short swims through cold water, which are not suitable for young children or non-swimmers without a guide. The Koprulu Canyon rafting operators provide life vests and safety briefings, and trips are graded by difficulty — beginners are well catered for on the Grade 2 sections. Always check with operators about age and swimming requirements before booking.
