What You Get on the Gundogdu Airport Leg

Short Journey, Same Care With the Clock

At about 51 km the drive is short enough that people are tempted to treat the departure as a formality. It is not. The last stretch, from Aksu in to the terminal, is the slowest part of this drive, and inside a run of 48 to 62 minutes it takes up a large share of the total. We work the pickup back from the flight time you give us, not from the map distance.

Your Gate, Not the One Beside It

The holiday villages here stand shoulder to shoulder along a single access road, several with similar names and near-identical entrances. Before dawn the boards are unlit and the gap between the right gate and the wrong one costs a reversing manoeuvre with a full vehicle. We hold the exact entrance from your booking and stop where you are standing.

A Price That Ignores the Beach Road

The fare is agreed when you reserve and settled in cash with the driver at the end. Whether the shared road is empty or you spend a few minutes behind a laundry van and a produce lorry, the figure does not move. Nothing is taken from a card in advance and there is nothing to reconcile afterwards.

Out of Season as Well as In It

We work through the night and through the winter, so a four o'clock pickup in November is an ordinary booking. That counts for more here than it sounds: once the villages empty at the end of the season, very little else is moving on the beach road at that hour.

Out of Gundogdu and West to the Terminal

The journey starts on the shared coastal road the resorts are strung along — one carriageway, sand and pine on the seaward side, hedged property boundaries on the other. In the early hours it belongs to the hotels: laundry vans, produce lorries and the crews who service gardens and pools before guests are up. There is little room to overtake, so the first kilometres are unhurried by layout rather than by congestion.

At the junction the road meets the coastal highway and the character changes completely: two lanes each way, steady speed, a straight run west. Gundogdu sits at the western end of the resort belt, which means the vehicle joins the highway ahead of the traffic building out of Sorgun, Side and Manavgat further east. Kadriye and Belek pass on the seaward side, then Serik, then the plain around Aksu where the greenhouses start and the airport approach roads split away.

It is roughly 51 km and takes 48 to 62 minutes. The lower figure is a quiet road at first light; the upper one is a summer afternoon with the Aksu section queueing and day traffic on the resort road. Because the highway leg is short, almost all of that variation lives in the final kilometres before the terminal — which is the reason we set the collection time against your flight rather than against the distance on the map.

The Pickup on the Gundogdu Beach Road

Most properties here have a barrier and a reception loop, and the vehicle comes inside it and stands at the door. Where a complex is laid out in bungalow blocks with footpaths between them, no vehicle reaches the room itself, so the loading point is the main reception — allow a couple of minutes to walk the cases across and ask the night porter whether a trolley is available. Give us the property name exactly as it is written on your accommodation booking; some of the neighbouring villages differ by a single word.

For a start before the desk opens, mention the evening before that a vehicle is coming and roughly when. Most of the villages man the barrier overnight, but a few lower the arm and leave a bell, and a driver ringing that bell at four in the morning is nobody's preferred beginning to the last day. A mobile number that is switched on settles it: the driver calls from the gate instead of working out which block you are in.

Booked Vehicle or Resort Taxi

In August there are cars on the beach road for most of the day and you could reasonably take your chances. In April or late October there are not, and those that are working will be taking the day trade around Side rather than sitting on a quiet access road before sunrise. Because the airport is close, people assume something will simply turn up; the calendar decides whether that is true.

The other difference is what you are agreeing to. A meter prices whatever traffic you meet, and on this particular route the traffic is concentrated exactly where a metered fare climbs quickest — the slow run in through Aksu. A booked vehicle carries a single price, fixed when you reserve it and handed to the driver in cash at the end, whatever that last section does on the morning.

Then there is space. Four people with cases, hand luggage and a pushchair do not fit into a standard car, and dividing the group at the resort gate to solve it is a poor way to start a travel day. We size the vehicle from the bag count you give us at booking.

Nearby routes

Collection covers the whole Gundogdu beach road at one price per vehicle — the large holiday villages, the smaller beach hotels and the apartments set back behind them. For the journey in, see Antalya Airport to Gundogdu. Guests staying further east along the same coast will want Manavgat to Antalya Airport.

Return transfer

The inbound journey is the same service under a different heading: Antalya Airport to Gundogdu brings you from the terminal to the same gate on the beach road. Guests who arrange both legs in one go tend to have an easier week — the entrance is already on file, each leg carries its own fixed price for the vehicle, and the departure is settled before the holiday begins instead of in the last two days of it.

“We booked a private transfer with MovXtra before arriving in Turkey, and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Communication via both email and WhatsApp was quick, friendly, and professional. We were a group of 14 people, and during our holiday we used their services for several transfers. The vehicle was always clean and comfortable, the driver was friendly and helpful, and every journey went perfectly. 🚐👌 There is honestly nothing we could fault. We will definitely use MovXtra again on our future trips to Antalya. Highly recommended if you are looking for a reliable, professional, and reasonably priced private transfer service in Antalya. 🙏🇹🇷”

“I used Movxtra for both my airport transfers in Antalya — from the airport to my hotel and then back to the airport. I was very satisfied with the service from start to finish. The website is very easy to use, with clear and fixed prices, and there is no need to pay in advance. You simply pay the driver after arriving at your destination, which I found very convenient. Their WhatsApp communication is also excellent — they respond extremely quickly. After making the booking, I recommend contacting them directly on WhatsApp, as it makes communication even faster and easier. Both drivers were punctual, professional, and friendly. The vehicles were clean, comfortable, spacious, and had good air conditioning. I would definitely recommend Movxtra, especially if you want a reliable airport transfer without having to pay upfront. The fixed price and payment upon arrival make the whole process simple and stress-free. Very good service and definitely a company I would use again!”

Leaving Gundogdu — Common Questions

Tap a question to view details.

How long is the drive from Gundogdu to Antalya Airport?

About 51 km and 48 to 62 minutes. The beach road out of Gundogdu and the highway leg west both run more or less to time; what moves the figure is the last section through Aksu, so plan around the upper end of that range rather than the lower one. In Turkish the name is written Gündoğdu.

What time will you collect me?

Give us the flight time when you book and we plan the pickup around it. You will have the collection time confirmed with your booking, and if the airline moves your flight beforehand, message us and we will change it.

My holiday village has a similar name to the one next door. How do you avoid a mix-up?

Send the property name exactly as it appears on your accommodation booking, and the block or room number if you have one. We hold the specific gate against your booking, and the driver calls the number you gave us when he is at the barrier.

Can the vehicle come inside the complex?

Usually, yes — the barrier is lifted and the vehicle stands at reception. Where the property is laid out in bungalow blocks with footpaths only, the loading point is the main reception building and the driver helps with the cases from there.

Do you run before dawn and out of season?

Yes, all year and at any hour. Early departures are ordinary work for us, and they matter most in spring and autumn when there is very little traffic of any kind on the beach road at that time of the morning.

How do I pay?

You pay the driver in cash at the end of the journey. No card is taken when you book and nothing is charged in advance. The price is fixed at the time of booking, so the amount you were quoted is the amount the driver takes.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the pickup time. Send us a message and we will confirm it — there is nothing to pay and no form to complete.

Can I book both directions at once?

Yes, and most guests do. Each leg is priced per vehicle and confirmed separately, so a change to one does not disturb the other, and free cancellation applies to both.
