Tekirova to Antalya Airport Transfer

Tekirova sits back from the main coast road, at the end of a short spur that climbs through pine forest to the junction. Most of the time the spur is empty and costs a few minutes. The exception is a changeover morning, when coaches serving the beach hotels use the same single carriageway and stop wherever a group is standing with its cases. The driver allows for that rather than assuming a clear run out of the village.

At the junction the route turns north. The Phaselis turning comes first, then Camyuva, then the roundabouts at Kemer, where the traffic of the entire strip joins the same road. This is a stop-start stretch on a summer morning and an easy one at four o'clock. North of Beldibi the resorts end and the highway runs along the cliff through the tunnels — the fastest section of the drive, and the one with the least room to overtake anything slow.

The tunnels bring you out at Konyaalti, on the western side of Antalya, and that is the point where guests tend to assume the trip is nearly finished. It is not. The airport lies beyond the city to the east, so the last section is a city crossing rather than a coastal drive, and on a weekday it carries commuter traffic rather than holiday traffic.

The whole journey is about 75 km. We plan it at 75 to 85 minutes and use the upper figure for summer weekends, for changeover days, and for any pickup that leaves Tekirova in the middle of a weekday morning. Very early departures generally run at the lower end, because everything between the spur and the terminal is quiet at that hour.

The beach properties here are large, and the entrance canopy can be a long walk from a room block at the far end of the grounds. Your driver waits at the main entrance rather than driving the internal roads looking for a building number, so plan a few minutes to bring your cases down. If you are travelling with someone who cannot manage that walk, say so when you book and we will ask the property where a vehicle is allowed to stop.

On a changeover morning the canopy is often occupied by coaches. When that happens the driver parks in the visitor bay and walks to the lobby, so from your side the meeting point does not change. In the village core the lanes are narrow and there is no room to turn with the doors open; for a pension on one of those, we agree a spot at the top of the lane instead. For a collection before the desk is normally staffed, ask the night before that someone be available to open the gate.

Leaving is a different problem from arriving. Nobody is holding a car for you in the village at half past four in the morning unless it was booked, and outside the high season the number of drivers working locally at that hour is small. A resort will telephone on your behalf, but the call happens at the moment you needed to be moving, and the answer is not always yes.

Then there is the fare. On a one-way run of this length the driver returns empty, which is normally reflected either in the meter or in a figure agreed at the kerb once your cases are already loaded. A pre-booked transfer removes that conversation: the vehicle is assigned to your name, the amount was fixed when you reserved, and it is settled in cash at the end.

For a short hop up the coast to Kemer or down to the Phaselis car park, a local taxi is perfectly sensible. For a departure with a flight at the other end of it, what you are buying is the certainty of knowing when the car will be at the canopy.
