“We booked a private transfer with MovXtra before arriving in Turkey, and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Communication via both email and WhatsApp was quick, friendly, and professional. We were a group of 14 people, and during our holiday we used their services for several transfers. The vehicle was always clean and comfortable, the driver was friendly and helpful, and every journey went perfectly. 🚐👌 There is honestly nothing we could fault. We will definitely use MovXtra again on our future trips to Antalya. Highly recommended if you are looking for a reliable, professional, and reasonably priced private transfer service in Antalya. 🙏🇹🇷”

Kaleiçi to Antalya Airport Transfer

Vehicle Choice for an Old Town Pickup
One amount covers the vehicle whatever the head count. Size matters here for a second reason as well: a shorter wheelbase can hold a perimeter kerb in the Old Town where a long minibus cannot, so passenger and luggage numbers are both taken at booking.

How an Old Town Departure Is Handled
The first stage of the journey is on foot
Kaleiçi was laid out for people and mules, and a good share of its lanes still take neither cars nor vans. That means the honest description of this transfer is two stages: a short walk from your door to a point on the perimeter where a vehicle can legally stand, and then the drive. We plan the first stage as carefully as the second.
Leaving means going uphill
Arriving, the luggage rolled downhill towards the harbour with you. Leaving, the same cases go back up the slope over uneven stone, which is a different proposition at six in the morning. If your guesthouse sits low, near the marina, tell us at booking — the standing point can often be chosen to shorten the climb, and the driver comes in for the bags where the lane allows it.
Four ways out, one of them right
The quarter has several usable perimeter points: the Hadrian's Gate side on Atatürk Caddesi, the square by the clock tower, the Hıdırlık Tower end beside Karaalioğlu Park, and the road down at the marina. Which one suits depends on the exact alley your hotel is on, and it is not always the one you were dropped at on the way in.
A quarter that is still asleep
Early departures here happen in a residential district with houses on both sides of a two-metre lane. We work at every hour, and the way that is done matters: an agreed standing point, a phone call rather than a horn, and a driver who waits at the kerb instead of nosing a vehicle into a lane it will have to reverse out of.
One price, settled at the terminal
The figure is agreed at booking and covers the vehicle, not the seats. No card is taken beforehand and no deposit is held; the driver is paid in cash once you are at the airport. If plans change, a booking dropped 24 hours or more before the collection time costs nothing.
Kaleiçi to the Terminal, in Two Stages
The driving part is short: roughly 16 km, and 28 to 38 minutes from the Old Town perimeter to the airport. What makes this route unlike any other departure in the city is the stage before it. Between your room and the vehicle there is a walk over stone paving, usually with a slope in it, and how long that takes depends entirely on which lane you are staying in and how much you are carrying.
Once the cases are in, the vehicle leaves the perimeter and picks up the boulevards that ring the quarter before turning east onto the airport road. The awkward stretch is the first kilometre or so — the streets immediately around the walls carry a lot of turning traffic and there are few places to stop on them — after which the route becomes ordinary and the remaining distance runs at whatever pace the city is moving that hour.
That hour is the whole story of the timing. In the late afternoon, roughly between 16:00 and 19:00, the roads out of the centre thicken and the drive tends towards the upper figure. Before about seven in the morning it is close to the lower one. The lanes inside the walls have their own rhythm as well: delivery vans occupy the wider alleys early, and by evening the harbour end fills with restaurant tables and people on foot.
Because the two stages are planned together, the pickup time is set against your actual flight rather than a rule of thumb. Give us the flight number and departure time and we plan the collection around it, along with the terminal — Terminal 1 for domestic services, Terminal 2 for international and charter — so the set-down is known before the vehicle leaves.
Choosing the Gate the Vehicle Waits At
Give us the hotel or guesthouse name at booking, not just a street. Inside the walls, names locate a property far more reliably than addresses do: alleys change name over short distances, and several of them do not appear usefully on a map at all. From the name we can name back a specific standing point — the Atatürk Caddesi side near Hadrian's Gate, the square by the clock tower, the Hıdırlık Tower end, or the marina road — and that point goes on the confirmation so it is not being discussed while you stand outside with cases.
A few practical notes for the morning itself. Wheeled cases behave badly on the old paving, so allow a little more walking time than the distance suggests, and small wheels suffer most. Where the lane is wide enough for the driver to walk in, he will, and larger guesthouses will usually help move luggage to the perimeter if you ask the night before. Keep a mobile switched on: if the usual standing point is blocked by a delivery or by works, the driver moves to the next one and calls to say which, which is a thirty-second conversation rather than a search.
Flagging a Taxi Versus Agreeing a Gate
A taxi cannot reach an Old Town door either, so the walk is the same in both cases. That is worth saying plainly, because the argument for booking here is not about being taken further into the quarter. It is about knowing, the night before, exactly which point you are walking to.
Hail or telephone for a car and the driver reasonably picks whichever perimeter road is easiest for him to reach at that moment. If that is the opposite side of the quarter from your lane, you carry the cases the long way, uphill, having already left the room. At five in the morning there is no one at the rank to ask and no way to compare. A booked departure fixes the standing point in advance, which is the part of this journey that actually goes wrong.
The rest follows from that. The vehicle is sized to the group before it arrives rather than being whatever pulls up, the amount was agreed at booking and does not respond to the traffic on the airport road, and it is handed over in cash at the terminal. Nothing is charged in advance, and calling the trip off a clear 24 hours ahead of the collection carries no fee.
Nearby routes
Kaleiçi is the historic core of the wider centre, and the surrounding districts each have their own departure route — start with Antalya City Center to Antalya Airport if your hotel sits outside the walls. The journey in from the terminal is described on the Antalya Airport to Kaleiçi transfer page, alongside Antalya Airport to Antalya City Center, Antalya Airport to Konyaaltı and Antalya Airport to Lara.
Return transfer
The arrival leg has its own page — the Antalya Airport to Kaleiçi transfer — and it is worth booking the two together as a round trip if the dates are known, because the gate that suits your guesthouse is then recorded once and used again for the departure. Each leg is priced per vehicle and each is paid to the driver on the day, so booking them as a pair changes nothing except the amount of information you have to give twice.

Travellers who booked this service
“I used Movxtra for both my airport transfers in Antalya — from the airport to my hotel and then back to the airport. I was very satisfied with the service from start to finish. The website is very easy to use, with clear and fixed prices, and there is no need to pay in advance. You simply pay the driver after arriving at your destination, which I found very convenient. Their WhatsApp communication is also excellent — they respond extremely quickly. After making the booking, I recommend contacting them directly on WhatsApp, as it makes communication even faster and easier. Both drivers were punctual, professional, and friendly. The vehicles were clean, comfortable, spacious, and had good air conditioning. I would definitely recommend Movxtra, especially if you want a reliable airport transfer without having to pay upfront. The fixed price and payment upon arrival make the whole process simple and stress-free. Very good service and definitely a company I would use again!”

Kaleiçi Departure Questions
Tap a question to view details.
Can the vehicle come to my hotel door inside Kaleiçi?
Sometimes, and often not. Many lanes are too narrow, several are closed to vehicles, and some that are passable have nowhere to stop or turn. Where the lane allows it the driver will come to the door; where it does not, the vehicle stands at an agreed point on the perimeter and the driver walks in for the luggage if he can.
Which gate will I be collected from?
The one nearest your property that a vehicle can legally use — most often the Hadrian's Gate side on Atatürk Caddesi, the clock tower square, the Hıdırlık Tower end, or the marina road. We name it from your hotel name at booking and put it on the confirmation, and the driver calls when he is standing there.
How is the pickup time chosen?
Around your flight. Send the flight number and departure time with the booking and the collection time comes back confirmed. The walk out of the quarter is taken into account when that time is set, which is why a guesthouse down by the marina and one beside the clock tower may not be given the same time for the same flight.
How long does the drive itself take?
28 to 38 minutes over roughly 16 km. Early mornings sit near the lower end. The slowest window is the late afternoon, from about 16:00 to 19:00, when the roads leading out of the centre are busiest.
Do you collect before dawn from the Old Town?
Yes — we work at every hour and early departures are common here. It is worth telling the guesthouse the evening before so someone is awake to open the door, and worth having the cases ready, because a lane full of houses at 05:00 is not a place to spend ten minutes loading.
How do I pay?
In cash to the driver at the terminal. No card details are needed to book and nothing is taken in advance. The amount is fixed when the booking is confirmed, so it does not change with the traffic or the hour.
What if my flight changes, or I need to cancel?
Message us with the new flight details and the collection is re-planned around them without any extra charge. A cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the agreed pickup time.
Child seats and heavy luggage?
Child seats are available on request; give the ages when you book. For luggage, tell us the number of cases as well as passengers — the walk to the perimeter is easier to plan when we know what is being carried, and the vehicle is chosen to fit the load.
