About this place

Termessos

Termessos is a mountaintop Pisidian ruin in Güllük Dağı National Park, 47 km and 57 minutes by road from Antalya Airport.

Termessos is the most dramatically sited of the region's ancient cities — a Pisidian stronghold perched over 1,000 metres up in Güllük Dağı National Park, defended by cliffs so formidable that even Alexander the Great could not take it. Its theatre clings to a ridge with peak views, and tombs lie scattered through the surrounding pine forest, rewarding the climb to reach them.

The drive from Antalya Airport covers 47 km and takes 57 minutes, heading north-west before climbing a steep, winding mountain road inside Güllük Dağı National Park. Your driver drops you at the park's upper car park — the road-head for the ruins, reached on foot — and waits through your visit before driving you back.

From the upper car park, a steady uphill footpath leads to the ruins over rocky, uneven ground — allow 20 to 30 minutes each way. Proper walking shoes are essential; the trail is unsuitable for strollers or limited mobility. Pine forest gives shade, but there are no shops on the mountain.

Practical information

Time Needed
Plan two to three hours on site for the theatre, tombs and viewpoints without rushing the climb.
Footwear & Terrain
Sturdy closed shoes are essential; the uphill path is rocky, uneven, and unsuitable for wheels or limited mobility.
Shade & Water
Pine forest shades most of the climb, but there are no shops on the mountain — bring your own water.
Best Time of Day
Morning visits keep exposed ridge sections cooler, though the mountain stays cooler than the coast anyway.

Why MovXtra for your Termessos transfer?

4 key benefits

Benefit 1

Licensed and insured

MovXtra is a TÜRSAB-licensed operator (licence no. 16177) — every transfer is insured and regulated, so you're covered by a properly regulated Turkish operator, not an informal arrangement.

Benefit 2

Fixed price, no surprises

Your Termessos transfer price is set at booking, before you leave the airport. No meter, no traffic surcharge, no charge for the driver's wait at the upper car park while you climb.

Benefit 3

Mountain road and park entrance confirmed

Termessos sits over 1,000 metres up inside Güllük Dağı National Park, reached by a steep, winding mountain road. We confirm the park entrance and car park route before you leave the airport.

Benefit 4

Driver at your pickup point, no searching

Your ride starts at the address you enter when booking — hotel, villa, or anywhere else in the region. Starting from the airport? Your driver is waiting in the Antalya Airport arrivals hall, just past baggage claim. Collect your bags and go straight to the vehicle — no taxi rank, no queue, no haggling over a mountain-road fare.

Private transfer vs. taxi

Airport taxis to Termessos run on the meter, so the steep mountain road and the wait while you climb add up, and the return leg is a separate negotiation at the car park. A private transfer fixes the fare in advance and includes the wait, both ways.

Planning Your Return Trip

Your driver waits at the upper car park for the two to three hours it takes to see the ruins, so there's no return taxi to arrange or pickup time to rush back for — you set the pace on the mountain.
