About this place
Patara is an 18 km national-park beach backed by Lycian ruins, near Kalkan — about 237 km and 3 hours 21 minutes from Antalya Airport (AYT).
Patara Beach is an 18 km expanse of pristine sand on Turkey's southwest coast, designated a national park to protect nesting Caretta caretta turtles. Backing the beach are the ruins of the ancient Lycian city of Patara, including a Roman amphitheatre and the recently restored bouleuterion (parliament building) of the Lycian League.
Patara is about 237 km from Antalya Airport — at the far western edge of MovXtra's coverage area, roughly 3 hours 21 minutes each way via the coastal D400. Most visitors combine Patara with a Kalkan or Kaş stay rather than making it an airport day-trip; a private transfer that waits suits those who do visit for the day.
The beach is reached by paved road from the village of Gelemiş, with a sandy final approach; the ruins lie between the village and the sand and share the same ticket. There are no hotels or buildings on the beach itself and little natural shade, so bring your own.
4 key benefits
Benefit 1
Patara sits at the end of a several-kilometre lane past the ancient city, with the car park and ticket office at the beach end. Your driver knows the D400 approach and the final run in.
Benefit 2
At this distance a one-way taxi makes little sense. The same vehicle stays with you and takes you back when you are ready — which matters most on a three-hour-plus run.
Benefit 3
MovXtra is a TÜRSAB-licensed operator (licence no. 16177) — every transfer is insured and regulated, which counts on a long west-coast journey.
Benefit 4
A far-western run is where meters and roadside quotes hurt most. Your price is fixed before you set off, one figure for the whole trip — no surprise at the end of a long day.
Few taxis will run this far west at a fair fixed fare, and none will wait out a full day at the beach. Your MovXtra price is agreed before you travel and covers the round trip — no meter, no destination surprise.
There is no taxi rank at Patara, so the return is arranged in advance. Your driver waits at the beach car park and takes you back at the time you set, at the same fixed price.

Per vehicle. One fixed price covers the car for the whole trip, up to the seats you book, so a group shares one fare rather than paying per person.
The private transfer from Antalya Airport (AYT) to Patara takes about 3 hours 21 minutes each way, around 237 km along the coastal D400. It is at the far western edge of the region, so many visitors base themselves in Kalkan or Kaş; there is no direct bus, so a booked transfer is the practical option.
