Places to Visit
Private transfers to malls, bazaars, and outlet centres. Flexible waiting time for short stops or full shopping days.
Shopping in Antalya divides clearly into three tiers. Kaleici Old Bazaar and the Street of Copperware in the old city offer handmade leather goods, ceramics, spices, and Turkish textiles in a historic setting. The pace is unhurried, bargaining is expected on unpriced items, and an hour can easily turn into three. At the other end of the scale, Mall of Antalya and MarkAntalya are full-scale modern shopping centres with international brand stores, food courts, and a cinema — familiar to anyone who has visited a large European mall. Between these two, the Migros and Kipa hypermarkets serve visitors stocking up on olive oil, tea, saffron, and packaged foods at prices considerably below duty-free or souvenir-shop levels.
Practical considerations matter when shopping with purchases to carry home. A private transfer accommodates as many bags as the boot allows — typically two or three large suitcases worth of shopping on top of personal luggage — without the restrictions of a shared shuttle or the cost calculation of multiple taxi trips. VAT refunds (KDV iadesi) are available to non-EU visitors on purchases above the threshold at participating stores; the refund desk at Mall of Antalya is on the ground floor near the main entrance, and the airport customs hall processes the paperwork for exports. Your driver can drop you at departures with sufficient time if a VAT refund stop is planned.
Timing your shopping trip avoids the worst of the heat and crowds. Turkish shops and malls typically open at 10:00 and are busiest between 14:00 and 17:00 on weekdays and all day on Saturdays. A morning arrival at Kaleici — around 09:30 when the stalls are setting up — gives you a calmer browsing experience and fresher stock. Mall of Antalya stays open until 22:00, making it a viable evening option after a beach or sightseeing day. Most shops in the tourist quarter accept euros and dollars as well as Turkish lira, though the exchange rate offered is typically less favourable than a bank or exchange bureau.

Yes. Transfers can be booked between any two points — airport to mall, hotel to bazaar, or mall back to airport. If you have a layover or a same-day arrival and departure, a shopping transfer between the airport and the city centre is a straightforward booking. Just allow at least 3.5 hours before your departure flight for a comfortable return to the airport.
Non-EU visitors spending above the minimum threshold (currently around 2,000 TL per transaction at the same retailer) can claim a refund of the 20% VAT on departure. Look for the 'Tax Free' logo at participating shops, request a tax-free form at the till, and present the completed form with your purchases to customs before check-in at Antalya Airport. Refunds are issued as cash or a card credit at the Global Blue or Planet desk airside.
