Demre to Antalya Airport Transfer

About 156 km and 151 to 183 minutes to the terminal: out of the greenhouse plain first, then the cliff road toward Finike, and only after that does the coastal highway begin to help.

Fleet

The vehicle for a three-hour drive

You pay for the vehicle once, whatever the seat count, and on a journey of this length that is worth choosing carefully. Tell us how many are travelling, how many cases there are, and whether anybody needs the front seat or a child seat. Legroom and boot space are more noticeable over 156 km than they are on a short hop, so we size upward rather than exactly.

What matters over 156 km of Lycian coast road

Three places answer to the name Demre

The town grid, the quarter around the church and the Myra ruins, and Andriake harbour to the south are separate starting points with separate approach roads. Andriake in particular is not the town at all. Naming which of the three you are in is what makes the pickup time correct.

The distance is our problem, not a variable in your fare

This is a drive of about three hours and the price for it is fixed when you book. A slow morning on the cliff section, a long wait behind a tractor on the plain, a heavier load than expected: none of it changes what you pay at the end.

Coach hours around the church are planned for

Tour coaches come into the St Nicholas quarter through the morning and park in streets that were not built for them. If your hotel is in those streets, the driver either comes before they arrive or approaches from another side of the grid. Either way it is decided in advance.

We start at any hour, and here that usually means early

With over two and a half hours of road ahead, most Demre pickups are made in the dark. We work around the clock, so a departure booked for two or three in the morning is handled the same as one at noon.

Nothing is paid until the journey is over

No deposit is taken and no card is needed to reserve. You pay the driver in cash at the terminal, and the booking can be released at no cost any time up to 24 hours ahead of collection.

Demre to the terminal: three hours, told honestly

This is the long one. From a Demre doorstep to the terminal is around 156 km, and the drive takes 151 to 183 minutes. Nothing about the road is difficult. There is simply a great deal of it, and the honest planning advice is to treat this as a three-hour movement rather than a transfer.

It starts flat. The plain around the town is a sheet of greenhouse plastic, and the roads crossing it are straight, narrow and shared with tractors and produce vans at almost any hour. The vehicle crosses that, then climbs. The cliff section between Demre and the Finike plain is the slowest part of the whole journey, a sequence of ascents and bends above the water where nothing overtakes anything.

From Finike onward the drive settles into the coastal highway proper, through the Kumluca farmland and then past Kemer, which in July and August is where the upper end of the range is earned. Evening runs are noticeably quicker than afternoon ones. Because the distance is what it is, this is also the route where a change of flight time matters most: tell us as soon as you know, and we move the pickup to match.

One local pattern is worth knowing if you are staying near the church. Coaches arrive through the morning and fill the narrow streets of that quarter, and a vehicle collecting from a hotel there at that hour spends longer getting out of town than it should. A pickup timed before they come, or approached from a different side, avoids the whole thing. Your driver will say which applies to your address.

Town, ruins quarter or harbour: where we come to you

The three areas behave differently on the morning you leave. Town-centre hotels are a straightforward doorstep collection on the grid. Accommodation beside the St Nicholas church and the Myra ruins sits on narrow streets that the coach traffic shares, and the vehicle needs a stopping point that is not the middle of one. Andriake is a harbour settlement a few kilometres south on its own access road, so a pickup there starts your clock earlier than a town one does. Say which of the three when you book and the time is set accordingly.

The rest is the same wherever you are staying: somewhere for the vehicle to stand, a gate that is open, and somebody who knows you are going before the desk is staffed. Arrange that with your host the previous evening and settle the bill then. We confirm the pickup time and the driver number with you ahead of the day, and if your address is one the coaches reach first, we say so at that point rather than finding out together on the morning.

Distance changes the taxi question

A 156 km run one way is most of a working day for a local car once the empty return is counted, and it is priced by agreement rather than by meter. The rank in Demre is set up for the church, the harbour and the surrounding villages. Three-hour airport work starting at four in the morning is not what it exists for, and in low season there may be nobody on it at that hour at all.

The larger risk is not the fare, though. It is arranging a car for that hour at all, and then having no way of checking overnight that the arrangement is still standing. A booking gives you a time somebody has agreed to, a vehicle sized to the luggage you declared, and a number you can call before you have carried anything downstairs.

And on a route this long, a fixed figure is worth more than on a short one. Whatever the cliff section does, whatever the coaches do, whatever Kemer does in August, the amount you hand over in cash at the terminal is the amount you agreed when you booked.

Nearby routes

The arrival version of this route is Antalya Airport to Demre. The nearest towns on the same highway are Finike to the east and Kas to the west, with Kalkan beyond it. All of them ride the same corridor back to the airport.

Return transfer

If the inbound leg is not arranged yet, it runs the same road in reverse and is described on the Antalya Airport to Demre page. Over this distance most guests book both directions in one go, which settles both prices and puts the return pickup point, whether that is the town, the ruins quarter or Andriake, into the schedule before the holiday starts rather than during it.

“We booked a private transfer with MovXtra before arriving in Turkey, and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Communication via both email and WhatsApp was quick, friendly, and professional. We were a group of 14 people, and during our holiday we used their services for several transfers. The vehicle was always clean and comfortable, the driver was friendly and helpful, and every journey went perfectly. 🚐👌 There is honestly nothing we could fault. We will definitely use MovXtra again on our future trips to Antalya. “I used Movxtra for both my airport transfers in Antalya — from the airport to my hotel and then back to the airport. I was very satisfied with the service from start to finish. The website is very easy to use, with clear and fixed prices, and there is no need to pay in advance. You simply pay the driver after arriving at your destination, which I found very convenient. Their WhatsApp communication is also excellent — they respond extremely quickly. After making the booking, I recommend contacting them directly on WhatsApp, as it makes communication even faster and easier. Both drivers were punctual, professional, and friendly. The vehicles were clean, comfortable, spacious, and had good air conditioning. I would definitely recommend Movxtra, especially if you want a reliable airport transfer without having to pay upfront. The fixed price and payment upon arrival make the whole process simple and stress-free. Very good service and definitely a company I would use again!”

Questions about leaving Demre

Tap a question to view details.

How long should I expect the drive to take?

Between 151 and 183 minutes for roughly 156 km. The lower figure suits a clear early start. The upper one covers a July or August afternoon, when the section past Kemer is busy with returning day traffic.

Is Andriake harbour treated as Demre?

It is the same booking but not the same pickup. Andriake sits a few kilometres south of town on its own access road, so tell us if that is where you are and we set an earlier collection rather than assuming the town centre.

How do you decide what time to collect me?

We work it out from the flight time you give us at booking, and over this distance that is essentially the whole calculation. Which of the three areas you are staying in is factored in as well. You will have the confirmed time before the day.

My hotel is by the church. Will the coaches be in the way?

Not if the pickup is planned for it. Coaches build up through the morning in that quarter, so we either collect before they arrive or come at the streets from another direction. The driver will tell you which one applies.

Do you collect in the small hours?

Yes, and on this route it is the common case. The drive alone runs to nearly three hours, so a morning departure puts most Demre pickups in the dark, and we work every hour of the night.

Can I bring a child seat, or will you provide one?

We provide them on request. Send the ages of the children with the booking and the correct seat is fitted before the vehicle leaves for you. There is no need to carry your own for three hours.

When is the money handed over?

At the end, in cash, to the driver at the terminal. Nothing is charged at booking and no card is required to reserve the vehicle.

What happens if the trip is called off?

Send a WhatsApp message more than 24 hours ahead of the collection and there is nothing to pay. We confirm the cancellation back to you, and since no money changed hands at booking there is no refund to chase.

Next step
